Membership of committees

Reading Time: 3 minutes

On Thursday 11 June 2026, the Parliament agreed Parliamentary Bureau Motion S7M-00346 on the membership of committees. This short blog sets out the membership of the committees of the Session 7 Parliament.

How many committees are there?

A previous SPICe blog explained that there are 16 committees this Session and provided details on their remits.

What is the party balance of each committee?

The graphic below shows the committees, their size, the party of the Convener and Deputy Convener and the parties of the other members of each committee.

Who are the members of each committee?

The names of all members of the Committee can be found in motion S7M-00346 and on the Parliament’s committee webpages. The membership of each committee is also listed below.

What happens next?

Although the party of the Deputy Convener has been decided by the Parliament (see a previous SPICe blog ‘Scottish Parliament Committees’), the individual member who will hold the position will be decided at the first meeting of each committee.

Future meetings of committees will be available in the Business Bulletin. Three committees (Transport, Criminal Justice and Finance and Public Administration) are due to meet on Wednesday 17 June 2026.

The Parliament will be in summer recess from 27 June 2026 to 30 August 2026. As such, it is expected that most committees will meet once prior to summer recess.
